My latest works combine painted silk or canvas surfaces with a mix of crewel and canvas free style embroidery. I don't use a pattern. I usually see a finished piece in my head and work towards it. The piece just happens. Once the colours are chosen the embroidery does itself.

I embroider every day stitching a couple of inches here an there as I try to fit in all sorts of other exciting things into this life. I live with my husband Geoff, three cats Hambone (aged 16), Rami (aged 6) and Giuseppe (aged 1), 40 year old cockatoo Freedie and Gordie the goat (aged 14) on our lifestyle block. I work full time as a registered valuer, do Kiaido Ryu Martial Arts, bird watch, hike and drive a morris minor. But I am passionate about embroidery in all its forms and history. I am foremost an embroiderer who does other things and not the other way around.
